The (GCT) Guitar Society is an educational, membership organization. Its purpose is to provide learning, personal development, and stage work to its members.
I based the organizational strategy on a successful, marketing oriented business model. I didn't explore other guitar societies until after I designed an organizational strategy and Organization Chart
I found that other guitar societies exist to further awareness of the classical guitar.
Typically, they serve as an educational/social link between amateur and professional guitarists and the community. They often offer a Concert Series of fine classical guitarists, monthly meetings, master classes, maybe a guitar ensemble, etc.
Guitar societies typically offer memberships at various price levels and discount tickets to performances, etc. Usually, you can donate money and/or buy tickets but not perform. If you donate enough money, you'll get your name printed on the souvenir program.
Guitar societies tend to import guitarists from outside its organization then charge money to see them.
That's great, but our "guitar society" members will develop, promote, and feature local talent.
After I finished the organizational design, I saw the idea of a "guitar society" very limiting.
Why limit it to guitars? What about vocalists? Comedians? Other performers and entertainers?
So, one of the first agenda items is to change the organization's name to allow expansion of scope. But, for now, I will abbreviate the name to "GCTGS."
GCTGS members be high integrity people who can be counted on.
My business model is marketing oriented. I'm not interested begging for donations.
I've designed an organization that will create its own financial viability through high-toned member participation.
To have a marketing orientation, you must produce something for sale that other people want.
GCTGS will produce and provide personal growth training and workshops in the following:
- staging,
- sound,
- lighting,
- comedy,
- stage presence,
- communication,
- personal marketing,
- video production,
- recording engineering,
- etc.
GCTGS will provide a Creative Department to produce stage props, promotional signs and flyers, business cards, brochures, etc.
GCTGS will locate venues and produce profitable events using its members. I have already developed a logistics manual for doing so.
GCTGS will also develop a Legal Department to train and assist members with copyrights and other legal matters associated with the entertainment business.
If you'd like to get in on the "ground floor" of this exciting new organization, send me an email at Grand Central Talent
